Since neither Ron nor I have been to Joshua Tree National Park, we did not know what to expect. The Mojave and Sonoran deserts meet here, so many of the plants and general terrain are familiar from the other places we have visited. This familiarity brings some level of comfort with the place but with enough differences for it to still feel new.
